Hello friends and supporters,
I’m delighted to be able to tell you the full details of our 2015 tour of England. The last time we toured so extensively was in 2007 and much has changed since then. This tour, backed by the Arts Council of England, celebrates our work and the work of countless organisations within our communities that are dedicated to bringing people together. Each concert on this tour has been organised in conjunction with a local community group and each concert is an invitation to the whole community to come together in a spirit of peace and co-operation.
The tour kicks off with a special concert in London that will feature new music from The Berakah Players (Chantelle, Serena, Mark and myself) and will feature a new string section. I’m furiously writing music as we speak and I have to say we’re very excited by these new compositions.
The London concert will also feature our two Berakah Multi Faith Choirs (one from London and the other from Sussex) who will come together to perform a short set.
There will also be a set from the brand new, never heard before Berakah Youth Ensemble. This idea has been in the forefront of my mind since the beginning of our journey way back in 2005 and now, with the help of Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College who join us as partners, taking the ethos of Berakah to a new generation is a reality. It may well be a small acorn right now but in a few years time I expect to see a very mighty oak grow out of this.
I do hope you’ll join us in not just celebrating 10 years of our work but more importantly demonstrating your own positivity by supporting our work. You can do this by coming to the concerts of course but in this social media driven age you can also help us create a wave of goodwill by joining our Facebook group and sharing our posts, adding us on Twitter and re tweeting and by generally adding your good will to our work. Every single gram of your energy will help. We all know how bad things are – together we can help each other to unite and spread some much needed light.
Thank you, and love to all.
Mo Nazam
